this weekend was great.

my fam owns a timeshare at this resort in chelan called wapato point. its this great place where theres a lot of large expanses of grass and room to run around and just promotes pure relaxation and fun.

it started off a little rocky. my sister and i were in her car, and my mom and dad in another. we do this because my sister is claustrophobic and can’t stand long car rides in the back seat of a car. anyways… we were fine, then suddenly my sisters car starts making funny noises. we pulled over and laura was freaking out, i was as cool and a cucumber…. my dad gets out, and i get in my parents’ car, and he gets in lauras car and tries to drive it… didnt work.
to make a long story short, the car broke down and we had to call the insurance place to come and get it and we had to wait for 2 hrs. we also had to pee in the bushes and go to the gold bar family grocer. i could NEVER live in gold bar. MAYBE sultan, just because its not so desolate.
oh, and peeing the bushes (ok, if this is T.M.I. then don’t read it…) pretty much hilarious. dunno why… its just not so.. refined… we used 7/11 napkins…

yeah, ’nuff said.

oh, the ducks in chelan are another species. worse than UW ducks. they’re freakin’ gluttons.

i was sitting there on the beach, jus’ chillin after going out with the jet ski, and my sister was out there running around… one duck approached me. it was cute, and was close to me, so i gave it ONE chip. then, suddenly, i have 15 other ducks running/waddling at me. probably the 1. most amusing thing i have ever seeing 2. most “i knew i shouldn’t have done that” moment i’ve ever had.

the ducks stayed around for like, 15 minutes. sitting there, looking at me. they’re SO CUTE, and i want to kick the stupid seaguls that eat the food i throw to them.

oh, and jet skiing makes me feel like the next bond girl. my arms are so sore, but its great.

anyhoo, important day tomorrow. should get my mind off of this… maybe go to sleep. maybe water my wilted fern.. “YOU LET IT DIE?!?!?!”…love fern… hahaha.

sunday sunday sunday

i love sundays at my house. truly… ever since i was little sundays have always been spent with the family, good food, and this amazing feeling.

kayla and nicole stayed over one weekend, and they had lunch with us on sunday. tradition in my family is to have a lunch on a sunday which is equivalent to a dinner on a tuesday. why tuesday? i just chose a day, so don’t worry about it… anyways, kayla made a comment that made me so proud. “i love the ambiance…”

the typical routine goes like this on a sunday…church in the morning, we get back around 1:00pm ish. my mom changes out of her clothes and puts in some kind of wonderful argentine tango, or gypsy kings in our wonderful bose stereo thing-a-ma-gig. by 1:30 my mom sets out a “picada”. in spanish “picar” means “to bite”, so basically its a little pre-lunch snack which consists of cheese, this italian spicy stuff, and some kind of meat… usually this russian sausage my father loves dearly. around 2:00, i make an entrance into the kitchen and eat our picada… around 3:00 my sister comes and we sit down for lunch. the only meal we have during the week as whole a family of four.

i love the conversations my family has. today, we talked about politics… and set out our opinions about obama… nothing hostile, just discussion. we usually laugh about something, and get serious about something else… it all depends.

then around 4:00, my mom brings out some random dessert. usually fruit or ice cream. or sometimes a pastry my sister brought.

after dinner, my parents usually go for a walk. and i sit at home and preoccupy myself with something.

anyways. my point… sundays are amazing. its so ridiculously full of traditions and of culture. and i love it! and you, my friend, should come over on a sunday and let me share it with you! <3

hope everyone had an amazing sunday.
